Apple sells iPhones without Contracts

According to recent media reports, Apple’s iPhone will be available without AT&T’s contract.

These phones are priced as:
-$499 for the iPhone 3G 8GB,
- $599 for the iPhone 3GS 16GB,
- $699 for the 32GB.
But according to some media speculation this does not mean you can use it with any other carrier. These phones are not unlocked and the fact that they are running on the latest baseband, these are (atleast for now) unlockable.

According to the information published on Gizmodo, users can buy only one contract-less iPhone per day and up to 10 iPhones in total. Check out the following image (originally published on Gizmodo) for more information.
This seems to be pretty big indication that Apple’s iPhone will no longer be exclusive with AT&T. It was earlier being reported that  T-mobile will be the next iPhone compatible carrier.
Perhaps this is the first sign that Apple will no longer be exclusive with AT&T. Although, not yet unlocked it is hard to believe that these version will not be broken into sooner than later!
