Amazon Announces Kindle For Mac, Kindle For iPad on it way!


d4c36_ipad_ebooks_largeAfter spreading its roots to leading operating systems platforms like the iPhone, iPod Touch, RIM’s Blackberry and Microsoft Windows, Amazon has officially announced the availability of its Kindle for Macintosh applications that will allow Macintosh users to read Kindle ebooks on their 'Mac' devices.
Users can buy Kindle ebooks from the Kindle ebooks store and save them to their personal Kindle library. The application allows Mac uses to read Kindle books on Mac the same way  they are read on the Amazon Kindle ebook reader.
With Kindle app for Mac and Windows, users will have the freedom to read their favorite ebooks,  available from the Kindle store on their desktops and laptops. This will also eliminate the need to buy an ebook reader specific device Kindle, as users can experience the same on their PCs.
With the 'free' Kindle application for Macintosh, users can read ebooks, flip through pages, search for text and a lot more. Furthermore, you can continue reading from the same page on your Kindle, where you stopped on any other device (like iPhone or Windows PC ) ‘without losing your place in the book.

Amazon Kindle ebook store already has about 450,000 titles including 102 of the 111 New York Times bestsellers and the count will continue to exponentially. In a similar move, Amazon is also planning to release the Kindle Application for an iPad!
The irony of the fact is that despite having its own ebook reader – the Amazon Kindle, Amazon is partnering with Apple to provide support for reading Kindle ebooks on the iPad Tablet with the upcoming launch of iPad Kindle app.
