Barclays New Customer-Filter Redirects Poor Clients to Indian Call Centers

Racism takes a whole new perspective in today’s economy. UK based Barclays bank is testing a new filtering system which identifies the poor customers from the wealthy!

Starting April 1st, 2010 when Barclays customers call the bank, this system will decide if the potential client that is calling is wealthy enough to buy or borrow from the bank or has a low credit approval who cannot buy products and services from the bank anymore.
Though the bank will have a better and more diplomatic explanation of the new filing system, it’s very obvious that there is a clear divide between the wealthy and not-so-wealthy customers when it comes to customer service at the bank.

Once the system identifies the "customer-type” it will then redirect the call to either India or a British operator. It is obvious  that the poor customers who the bank cannot benefit from any longer are redirected to the Call Center teams in India and the wealthier counterparts to UK.

Those who have considerable savings or a credit limit that allows them to borrow around £500 from the bank or buy its products will be connected to a British operator. Though this system is designed to improve process efficiencies by identifying customers, there are quite a few customers who will have an objection against being tagged.
The next time you call the bank and have to listen to an alien accent, you now know what the bank thinks of you!
