Forget 1-800. Try Go800 SMS
Gone are the days when you had to remember a long 10 digit number to call any business or a company. A New York based startup, Go800 seeks to solve that issue to keep things really simple.
Go800 offers service which can simplify the way customers contact the companies. Businesses can choose a keyword and map it with a phone number. Every time an SMS is sent to “Go800” or “46800” with a particular keyword the sender will be connected to the business that is associated with that “keyword”.
For example next time you want to call your local Chase Bank number, just SMS “Chase” to Go800 and you will be connected in few seconds.
Few of the known brands like Citibank, Chase, Budget Car Rentals, Hilton, etc… are already onboard with this service. Go800 claims that its innovative service not only makes marketing easier but it also makes financial sense as the cost of connection is cheaper than the toll free 1800 numbers.
The service is currently running in beta which officially launches on 15th of April. Go800 first launches in US with national coverage and then expands to Canada and Europe.
At this time all advertisers have to get in touch with the Go800 reps to get their keywords registered and have their campaigns up and running, however, advertisers will be provided with an interface to search and register for the keywords in the near future.
Advertisers can choose from several Voice Keywords packages. Businesses can choose their brand name as keywords for a nationwide coverage for just $500 a month. Generic Voice Keyword costs $10,000 a month. For example if Pizza Hut decides to go with its brand name i.e “Pizza Hut” it pays only $500 but if it chooses to go with “Pizza” as its keyword then it has to pay a higher cost for a generic keyword.
Another option lets you choose a particular area by its area code to run a campaign. Local campaigns are priced at anywhere between $40 and $250 based on certain factors.
Overall, Go800 is a brilliant business idea that will see a better conversion rates with advertisements and will be hugely adapted by the advertisers on a national and local level.
