Farmville soon to be available on iPhone, iPad and Android Devices?

Not only is Farmville is one of the world’s current favorite online game, it has immensely increased Facebook's popularity among the masses. Now Farmville is reported to be expanding itself from your desktop web browsers to other mobile platforms including Google Android and iPhone OS.

If reports uncovered by Superannuation are to be believed, Zynga – the company that holds the official Farmville domain for facebook has also purchased domains for these mobile platforms which include farmvilleipad.com, farmvilleiphone.com and farmvillesms.com.

Apparently, this suggests that three new versions of the game, Farmville for iPad, Farmville for iPhone / iPod Touch and Farmville For Android are being developed by Zynga and should be hitting the stores sometime in the near future!

Ever since its launch on Facebook, Farmville – a virtual farmyard where users develop and maintain farms, harness crops, exchange virtual gifts with their facebook Farmville buddies, has seen enormous and instant popularity and has been widely acclaimed, embraced (and criticized) across various parts of the globe.

The original Facebook Farmville game is based on Flash but since Apple does not entertain Flash for the reasons of ‘cross compilation’ and other such issues, what remains to be seen is whether the upcoming iPad Farmville Game/iPhone Farmville Game will continue to keep Farmville users interested or not.

I’ve seen some of my friends take Facebook Farmville so seriously that they often skip exercise, bunk classes, get inevitably angry or claim to be ‘irritated’ when asked to pause/ take a break   from Farmville.

Perhaps, this extreme interest and loyalty among 'Farmville farmers' explains the reason why Zynga is expanding Farmville to platforms like the iPhone OS and Google Android.

For now this is just a rumor but it sure has stirred up a Hornet's nest!
