iPad - Day Two & Already JAIL BROKEN!
The iPhone OS is just like the two sides of a coin, heads and you are running a decent untethered iPhone OS on your Apple device, tails and you unleash the beast within that decent looking monster.
Well, not even more than a full day after its release, an Apple iPad was subjugated into a jailbroken iPad and the beast was let loose off the limiting shackles it was born with. And the credit goes to a cross team effort by MuscleNerd, Chronic Dev Team, Comex and Cehpwn, who are most probably the first team to jailbreak iPad.
Comfirmations of the Spirit iPad jailbreak were posted via a Tweet just recently by MuscleNerd but it is not yet announced as to when they will release the iPad jailbreak publicly. However, it is assumed that the dev team is waiting for the first wave of Apple iPad firmware update to reveal details on the hack.
GreenpoisOn was expected to perform the first iPad jailbreak, at least for the fact that it discovered a new hack for the iPhone OS 3.1.3 and iPod Touch which can also be used to jailbreak the iPad OS. Even so, these reports bespeak otherwise.
