A 5-7 inch iPad on the cards?
Not interested in the just-released 9.7-inch iPad? How about a 5- to 7-inch version of the iPad? That's the hot iPad rumor these day.
According to Taiwanese tech site Digitimes claims, we might see a 5- to 7-inch version of the iPad "as soon as" the first quarter of 2011, with a price tag "below" $400!
The new tablet would "target the highly portable mobile device market" as well as "consumers that focus mainly on reading and do not have a high demand for text input," according to a senior analyst for Digitimes, citing " talks with upstream component sources."
In other words, we'd be talking about a new tablet that would essentially fit between the iPhone and the current iPad.
Of course, this is only a rumor for now, although I think it's safe to say that Apple will probably have a new version of the iPad ready in about a year's time, and there's already been talk of iPads in "different sizes and form factors."
