Apple iPad 2 May Be Available Within 100 Days!

There have been reports in the past about the next generation iPad - the Apple iPad 2. But the latest piece of news that makes all this interesting is the iPad 2 release date. Sources state that Apple is preparing to ship the iPad 2 by February 2011.

But, we think that refers to the shipping date deadline that Apple has notified to Foxcon, which is also manufacturing the gadget for Apple, the Apple iPad 2nd generation, to be precise.

According to Digitmes, Apple has notified it to be ready to ship 400K to 600K units of the iPad 2G in the next 100 days which is probably by the end of February or early March!

Foxconn, one of the key manufacturers of Apple products disclosed the news to DigiTimes. The iPad 2 is said to feature a front-facing camera for Facetime video calls, better hardware and software performance and package support for GSM and CDMA networks (speculated) among other features.

There are no major changes expected in terms of hardware design, except the inclusion of a secondary Facetime camera. Software refinements maybe plentiful, but are unannounced yet. There’s no word on its pricing, availability and official announcement in this regard.
