Transcend Unveils USB 3.0 Flash Drives

USB 3.0 compatible machines haven’t hit the mainstream markets quite gracefully yet and are still on the verge of universal evolution, but that does not stop companies like Transcend to show off their USB 3.0 flash drives.

Yes, Transcend has just announced JetFlash 700 – a new range of USB 3.0 flash drives. The Transcend JetFlash 700 though similar in physical appearance with other conventional flash drives, is unique in its construction and build.

With a sturdy body crafted using ultrasonic welding technology and stylish aesthetics paired with smooth exterior, the Transcend JetFlash USB 3.0 devices sport an admirable look. Inside the beautiful casing, the USB 3.0 circuitry takes pleasure to offer incredibly faster speeds compared to previous USB standards.

Theoretically, the USB 3.0 speed is claimed to be 4.8 Gbps which is about 10 times faster than the speed offered by USB 2.0 devices. This would considerably bring down the data transfer time while copying or moving the data between or to/from devices.
The following is a quick list of features offered by this device.

- Fully compatible with SuperSpeed USB 3.0 & Hi-Speed USB 2.0
- Easy Plug and Play installation
- USB powered. No external power or battery needed
- LED usage status indicator
- Offers a free download of JetFlash Elite data management tools
- Limited lifetime warranty*

The Transcend USB 3.0 flash drives will be completely backward compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 devices. However, while in compatibility mode, USB 3.0 speeds cannot be attained.

Transcend also mentions that these devices will support JetFlash Elite Data Management Tools using which users can check their emails or use the JetFlash drive as a USB key to log on to various website accounts (the most possibly means, without having to type your IDs and passwords).
