During the first half of fiscal year 2011, US employers submitted 43,407 permanent labor certificates under PERM for Green Card, 6,763 of them were denied and 1,530 were withdrawn.

Nearly half of these certificates were filed for IT positions. The other hot occupations include Financial Analyst, Research Associate, Cook and Chef, etc. Microsoft(3,724) and Cognizant Technologies(1,386) are again the top 2 green card sponsors.

Surprisingly, hundreds of small restaurants had their labor certificates certified as well!
